I never remembered hearing that Kylie Minogue song in the 80s. So, for me it seem the first time I heard it was from F&S that dueling divas bit. Now, I have singstar and that song is on it and I just cannot sing it normally. I always have to sing it like Lucia Poop.

Show will air on BBC America next year

Joanna Lumley is reuniting with her "Absolutely Fabulous" co-star, Jennifer Saunders, but this time she won't be playing the Patsy.

Instead, the two, along with Saunders' pre-"AbFab" partner-in-comedy Dawn French, will star in a new series being co-produced by BBC America and its big brother across the pond. The show is scheduled to air sometime next year.

The yet-untitled series, created by Saunders, will run seven episodes. It focuses on the members of a women's club in a small English town. A newly widowed woman (Sue Johnston, "Waking the Dead") joins the club, which purports to be dedicated to truth and fellowship, but finds its members also rather enjoy a bit of good gossip.

In addition to Johnston, Saunders, French and Lumley, the show will also feature Pauline McLynn ("Angela's Ashes," "Father Ted"), David Mitchell ("Peep Show") and Sally Phillips ("Smack the Pony," "Bridget Jones's Diary").

"Absolutely Fabulous" first ran on the BBC for three seasons from 1992-95 and made its way to this country a few years later. Two more seasons and several specials have followed in the past few years.

A premiere date for the new show hasn't been determined yet.

French on Mystery

Did anyone happen to catch the latest installment of Miss Marple on PBS's Mystery? The episode is titled Sleeping Murder and featured Dawn French as a performer in a sort of vaudeville troupe called The Funnybones. Part II of the two-part series shows next weekend, if anyone is interested, but check your local listings, as they say.

Where do you get your F&S?

I am state-side and realize fans elsewhere will have much different answers to this question, however any & all responses are welcome.

I got my first F&S at a Barnes and Noble and then purchased several other DVDs online at Overstock.com. I should shop around more, I think. I always like to hear recommendations though. So tell me where you get the best selection and value for your F&S spending cash?

And remember, even if its a place I can't get to ... mention it on here and it will likely help someone else.

Comic Strip Presents

One day I was carousing the YouTube.com site and found a "Comic Strip Presents" clip that is a gas. Its a nice piece of vintage F&S ... before they got out on their own. See if you can pick them out in these clips. Also among this comic group you can see young Scotish actor Robbie Coltrane - who now is the embodiment of Hagrid (Harry Potter Character). "French and Saunders, Saunders Boop de dewie doo" What's up with that jingle? Does anyone know how they chose it, or did it just come about?

I do notice that Saunders gets double billing that way ; ) thus promoting her character's dominant image.

Haunting Tune Trivia

One of my most favorite skit is the Dueling Opera Divas (Gentlemen Prefer French & Saunders). Dawn French's facial and hand expressions as she sings "LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY" tickled me for days. Jennifer, who is my all time favorite actress/comedian makes me giggle with her cool attitude and many kitty-children!

But here in lies the trivia. That song, oh how it gets stuck in one's mind, especially after watching F&S do their version - who sang it originally? When I google it I get Kylie Mynogue, but I am not so sure. Is she the original singer? And if so, when did it first come out and was it on the radios? Anyone reading this post that has some insight, please let me know!

The girls are back on UK TV this week with another Christmas Special. It's on BBC1 over here but may well be on BBC World?
